National Financial Services (NFS) will soon provide its annual Required Minimum Distribution (RMD) notification to eligible Premiere Select retirement account clients.

The notification will be provided to retirement account owners who are or will be age 73 or older during 2026. The letter provides the client’s estimated RMD amount along with information used in the calculation, including prior year-end account value, date of birth, applicable life expectancy factor, distributions taken to date, mandatory withdrawal date, and systematic withdrawal plan information, when applicable.

What Advisors and Financial Professionals Should Know

  • Notification timing: The 2026 RMD notification is scheduled to be available beginning September 30, 2026.
  • Online availability: The letter will be available through Wealthscape, Wealthscape Investor, and applicable non-Wealthscape portals. Clients will not receive a separate eDelivery notification when the letter becomes available.
  • September 18 cutoff: Clients who have satisfied their annual RMD from the applicable account on or before September 18, 2026 will be excluded from the notification. Accounts opened after September 18 will also be excluded.
  • Inherited accounts: Inherited IRAs and inherited retirement plan accounts (BDAs) are excluded from this annual notification. RMD information for these accounts is available through Retirement Hub in Wealthscape.
  • Transferred assets: Amounts transferred or rolled into an account during 2026 generally will not be included in the RMD calculation.
  • RMD tracking: Advisors and financial professionals can review the RMD – 112A 220B 220C report in Wealthscape Reporting to assist with monitoring RMD activity. Retirement account transactions may take up to two business days to appear in Wealthscape reports.

Reminder: Although NFS calculates and provides estimated RMD information, the account owner remains responsible for determining and satisfying the correct RMD amount.

Advisors and financial professionals should begin reviewing clients with outstanding 2026 RMD requirements and work with clients to ensure distributions are completed timely. Establishing a systematic withdrawal plan may also help clients manage their annual RMD requirement.
