At the time of writing this, it’s a brisk 28 degrees here in Montpelier — which can only mean one thing: snow is on the way! That first dusting in the Green Mountains marks an exciting time for many of our Operations teammates (especially the skiers among us).

When snow meets the still-vivid fall colors, Vermont shows off one of its most magical sights — “Snowliage.” The mix of golden leaves and snow-dusted peaks is the holy grail for the throngs of autumn “leaf peepers” visiting this time of year.

But while some of us bundle up for ski season, others start their annual migration south. These “Snowbirds” head for warmer places like Florida, which means it’s also time for seasonal address updates.

To make these moves easier for clients, our NFS Brokerage accounts allow temporary seasonal addresses that automatically revert to the original mailing address after up to 180 days.

To streamline this process, we’ve created a new Seasonal Change of Address Attestation form. This will allow registered representatives to submit seasonal address changes on behalf of their “Snowbird” clients.

  •  Available in the Merrill Forms Library: October 17
  •  Available in Docupace (electronic submission): October 24

Now you’re fully versed in “Snowliage,” “Leaf Peepers,” and “Snowbirds” — you’ll be talking like a Vermonter in no time!

For any questions about the new form or seasonal address updates, give our Service Desk a call at 1-800-344-7437 to chat with a real, live Vermonter.
