Two Tools to Help You Start Better Retirement Conversations
Retirement planning starts with more than a target age or account balance. It starts with understanding what your clients want retirement to look like, what matters most to them and what concerns they may have along the way.
ESI offers two client-facing resources designed to help support those conversations.
Your Retirement Lifestyle Plan is a streamlined tool that can help clients think through their retirement expectations, concerns, lifestyle goals, income sources and available resources. It also encourages clients to prioritize goals as Needs, Wants and Wishes, helping create a more meaningful discussion around what they want their retirement to include.
Your Retirement Lifestyle Workbook provides a more comprehensive planning experience. In addition to retirement goals and expectations, it helps clients gather and organize information related to retirement income, investments, liabilities, insurance and other assets that may be important when developing their retirement plan.
Consider using the Lifestyle Plan when you want a simple way to start or refresh the retirement conversation, and the Lifestyle Workbook when you are ready to take a deeper dive or want clients to gather more detailed information in advance of a planning meeting.
Both resources can help move the conversation beyond simply asking, “Do you have enough?” and toward a more important question: “What are you building your retirement to support?”
